About Sophie

Hey, I am Sophie, owner of Sophie’s Pawtique & Spa. Which feels surreal to even type. This has always been a dream of mine. One that I can now finally say is a reality.

If you’re like me, it’s never ‘just a dog’ your dog is your world and, in that case, they deserve the world. My idea was to create this as the upmost love and care your dog could get with spa treatments suited to every dog’s needs from the anxious ones, the shedding ones, the elderly ones, the dry skinned ones and even just the really muddy ones!! Every dog deserves a pamper and to feel loved.

Now with my City & Guilds Dog Grooming Qualification I can now provide a wide range of pampering services for all different breeds and sizes. Which means your pooch will be leaving their pamper looking and feeling their absolute best.

This is only the beginning. I can’t wait for you all to come on this journey with me.

I look forward to seeing all you soon.

FAQ’s
Are you a member of the British Dog Association and/or PIF (Pet Industry Federation)?

Yes, we are members of both of the above. We are committed to providing the best and safest services, as well as using best practices in the health and safety of dogs in our care.

How long will my dog’s appointment take?

You should expect to leave your pooch at the Pawtique anywhere between approximately 1-2 and a half hours depending on the treatments your dog is having that day! However, this can of course still vary and be shorter or longer depending on factors such as the breed of your dog, their behaviour, and the condition of their furry coat.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes, we have liability insurance which means if for any reason your pooch is injured while under Sophie’s Pawtique care, any medical expenses you incur as a result should be covered.

How often should I book my appointments?

All pooches benefit from being pampered regularly but the intervals between each session will depend on the breed of dog/their coat type and how well they can be maintained at home. We would recommend most long-haired pooches to visit us at the Pawtique every 6-8 weeks for a full pamper to keep their coats in a good condition and keep them feeling comfortable in the environment. If you like your dog to always be smelling and feeling fresh, some owners bring their dog in to see us at the Pawtique for a bath, brush and blow-dry every few weeks between their full pamper.

Does my short/smooth coated dog need pampered too?

Short/smooth coated breeds need bathing the same as any other breed and you’ll be surprised how much coat will shed from them. Although pampering is not required in order to stop matting or tangles in these breeds, it is good for their skin and to keep them smelling fresh!

Can I stay and watch while you pamper my dog?

As your pooch loves you very much, they will wiggle and move around trying to get close to you which is not safe while we are pampering. It is best to drop off your pooch at their scheduled appointment time and then come back when the treatment is finished. We are very happy to show our customers around the Pawtique so they can see where their pooch will have their treatment.

What type of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Debit cards. MasterCard, and Visa.

What if I am late to pick up my dog?

Unfortunately, as we are on strict time schedule with our appointments, we cannot offer your dog to stay with us. However, we understand things can happen therefore we do offer a chargeable creche area for your dog to wait for you.

My dog isn’t good with other dogs, is that a problem?

At our Pawtique we only will have in 1 dog at a time therefore your dog has its own space and my full attention at all times.

My dog is old, can it be pampered?

All dogs regardless of age benefit from being pampered. However, we ask that you notify us of any underlying issues prior to your appointment to ensure we can add extra time to the pamper, to guarantee your dog is comfortable.

Can I visit the Pawtique & Spa facilities?

At Sophie’s Pawtique & Spa we are very proud of what we have created to make your pooch relaxed and to help them enjoy their time with us. We encourage you to ask questions and understand the process of the pampering sessions. During your visit you will meet the staff that will be working with your dog and experience the dedication that goes into making this an enjoyable experience. With the Pawtique being busy our commitment will always be to the pooch, so we ask you to appreciate the limitations.
